You can buy this handmade carpet before it arrives in our Tewkesbury showroom. As the rug has not yet been received into our stock at Tewkesbury, it has yet to be properly photographed; the images are perhaps not as good as our normal images. However, they are actual photographs of the finished rug. Once the carpet has been transferred from our warehouse, we will rephotograph it.

This market has been growing quite fast in recent years, emphasising the higher quality knotting and the influence of Pakistan in many finishing processes, such as to correct alignment issues where the weaver has drifted the wefts, causing the pattern to run out. Next, adjustments are undertaken before , , and . This combination of Afghan weaving and finishing in Pakistan has succeeded. These carpets are tightly knotted and often finished with an unusually bound multicoloured fringe.
The carpets are still , and the wool is coloured with . The Loribaft rug designs can be reminiscent of designs, although the Loribaft pieces are more refined and tightly knotted. The colours of the Loribaft rugs and carpets are similar to those used in our Samarkand collections and possibly more vibrant. The main distinction is that the patterns are playful, using a defined colour palette and simple design, with stylised animals, plants, trees or characters with block colour often mimicking an ombre effect. Some Loribaft pieces do not have fringes, so they are finished with a plain end or binding and secured to prevent fraying. Like the Samarkand carpets, other rugs are produced with an unusual bobbin wind on the warps.
